Baby Boomer Women Need An Online Business

Baby Boomer Women need an online businessHaving An Online Business Will Help Baby Boomer Women Retire

We’re the generation that thought we would never grow old!

Just look at us now, retirements right around the corner or we’re already there.

Are we reshaping the notion of retirement?

You bet we are!

Not just because we want to, but for most it will be out of necessity.

Last year it was reported that the number of job seekers over 50 years old had risen by 50% in the previous 12 months to reach a 10 year high. This situation prevails and for many baby boomer women, finding employment is becoming increasingly difficult.

Most women don’t have a pension and for those that do have a pension, many are finding that it will fall short of affording us the retirement we had anticipated. So much for Freedom 55!

Given that most of us need and or want to continue working, many are  looking to self-employment as a way to provide a continued income or supplement our pensions.

Do you see yourself as a Boomer Entrepreneur?

According to recent statistics many women are using retirement to start   their own  businesses.

Statistics show that 15% of all businesses are started by the over 50s and that 70% of these businesses are still going after six years. This is evidence that self-employment is a viable option.

The challenge, for many women, building an online business is finding a business system that provides…….

  • the essential tools and information needed to be successful
  • camaraderie with like-minded women
  • a solution to the feelings of isolation that working from home can create
  • team projects that get results
  • leaders who are successful online and are happy to show others
  • relationship building with other women around the world

The good news about starting an online business successfully is there are solutions to be found that will create the ideal work from home business for you.

Would you like a business like this?

  1. The ability to work with like-minded people in order to stay connected, ask questions, collaborate, and build a team together.
  2. Knowing that what you  offer is a win/win for everyone on your team and your business.
  3. A business plan that you can offer to others that you feel really good about, easy to set-up, and is inexpensive to get started.
  4. A business that will keep on working for you even when you’re not there .
  5. An effective marketing strategy that works for every member equally.

Yes Corinne.I believe that there are so many women who could have the financial benefits of an online business backed by the support of a great team of like minded women. It can be done and you don’t have to do it alone.

  • I’m a Baby Boomer and really relate to your article Pam. I have been a teacher for 30 years plus and love what I do. But due to illness have been told to retire. I thought I still had plenty of time to organise my finances. After raising 3 children I spent most of my money on their needs, education etc. and I am so fortunate to be able to do that. I’m 59 and not financially independent so what do I do. I don’t want to be supported by my husband and I can’t slow down as I have always been so busy with my work. I miss my colleagues, I miss my students and I want to be busy and involved and be able to build a future for the things I want to do. Well I came across BWN a few weeks ago and feel so fortunate to be involved with such a wonderful, supportive, talented, creative, positive and delightful network of women. I have been given hope, friendship, a fantastic future and I am learning so much.  Sandra Free
