What is branding? Why do you hear the phrase, “you need to brand yourself” everywhere you turn? Is it important enough that you need to seriously consider doing it? When you ponder the question of what is branding, as the picture describes, it is about YOU. What are your values, what is your mission, what is your vision for the future, and what is the image that is going to represent you? What is branding? Well when you think of Cola, what is the first thing that pops into your head? Probably Coke, or Pepsi right? When people think of the product or service that you offer, you need them to see YOU, your face, or your logo, and what you represent that brings value to them!
The reason people talk about branding so often is because it is VITAL to a business to have a brand, even a business of just one person! I watched Tony Robbins talk a person through a personal mission statement, for his life! Tony Robbins!! Why would he do that with someone? What was happening there is Tony Robbins put that person on a path to create a brand that would represent them in their future. If you are getting started in online marketing, along with building your list and learning about Search Engine Optimization you need to think about what message and what impact you want to have on the world.
When I think about my own mission, I want to help people succeed online, and have made it a mission to sort through a lot of Bulls*&t to find out what tools are actually helping people succeed online. I have been fooled by a lot of false claims, and BS and I don’t want anyone else to suffer that same fate and spend a lot of money on crap that doesn’t work! Affiliate marketing is a great way to earn an income online and it helps when you have the right tools. But I digress, back to the matter at hand, what is branding? Branding is you, and what you want to accomplish. It becomes a dichotomy when it is done right. When people think of you, they think of your brand, and when they think of what you offer they think of you. This type of branding is the ultimate goal. However this kind of branding does not happen overnight.
If you want to build a brand it is a long game, not unlike an organic growth of your website, and while I am being brutally honest, it is the same as you won’t be in profit in a week of online marketing, at least not if you want to become sustainable and long lasting. What is the best way to build your brand? You need to have the right tools and right support that will help you get there.
