Adding WordPress To Your Domain Using GVO HostThenProfit
In my last post, I showed you how to set up your GVO – HostThenProfit hosting account. In this article, I will show you how to add WordPress to your domain.
Adding WordPress To Your Domain Using GVO – HostThenProfit Cpanel is really similar to other cpanels. It is fairly easy, but if you are new to internet marketing you have to learn the basics, right?
As you see in the video, I show you step-by-step everything you need to do to set-up WordPress on your domain.
Go to your cpanel, by going to http://yourdomainname.com/cpanel and log in. For example: I went to http://workwithjadendaniels.com/cpanel to log into my cpanel in the video.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on WordPress under Scripts. The next step is just to click install. I know you are probably saying “Duh, Jaden I can see that.” I just want to make sure I don’t leave out any steps. There are still some people who have only been using a computer for a little while.
Okay, Let’s Get To The Nitty Gritty of Adding WordPress To Your Domain Using GVO – HostThenProfit
When installing WordPress on your domain do not add a directory. That should be left blank if you want people to go straight to your site by typing http://yourdomainname.com. Now if you want to use that as a capture page and then send people to your blog, you can create a directory here.
Let’s say you decided to call your directory “blog”. Then when people want to read your lastest WordPress post they will have to type in http://yourdomainname.com/blog. I prefer not using a directory.
You don’t have to change the database settings. Scroll down to the Site Name and Description. I usually call my site the same as my domain name. The description is your tag line.
On this site I put Your Internet and Network Marketing Coach. I want people to know that I coach people who want to learn more skills about Internet marketing as well as networking. Your tagline can be absolutely anything you want. Try to make it keyword rich, though.
You wouldn’t want to say…Country boy who loves fishing if your site is about internet marketing. Make sure you put keywords that are what you write about on your site.
Admin username you can leave it as admin. In fact, Bluehost does not give you the option to change it. Make sure you choose a password that is not easily hacked.
You can change the email to whatever you want. I will show you how to setup that email for your domain in the next video. I actually changed mine to jaden@workwithjadendaniels.com, but I didn’t show it in the video.
Now you see how to log in to your backoffice or dashboard of WordPress. http://yourdomainname.com/wp-admin
You Finished Adding WordPress To Your Domain Using GVO – HostThenProfit.
Now you can view it live by typing http://yourdomainname.com. I will show you how to customize in a later post.
