This week I was Humbled, Grateful and Stoaked.
Ok so it is no secret I dont know much about marketing a business. This fact was rubbed in my face this week when I posted on FB to get as many people as possible to like my business page and not one person responded. So drastic measures were needed. I was humbled.
Call in the professionals Better Women’s Network. When I was introduced to this site by a good friend of mine I was excited. My friend is great at marketing. I have always thought of her as a marketing queen. So as soon as I saw she was one of the leaders of BWN I saw a great opportunity to learn from amazing women how to run and market a business while potentially making some money on the side. BINGO I have definitely not been disappointed.
Jaqueline Tribe has been amazing in taking the patience and time to explain all the marketing help she posts. I really have a question for every thing she posts. She kindly responds promptly to anything I ask.
I have learned how to post an ad on free sites (still not quiet worked out what to say but I am winging it). I now have a platform to post this blog and one for several other businesses I run. I have also worked out, thanks to Kirsty Sleep, how to use Skype features. Kirsty also kindly has gone above and beyond helping me with any queries or questions I have. So far in one week I have done more positive marketing than I have done in the past 12 years running a business as a naturopath purely because I have patient people working along with me kindly sharing their wisdom and expertise. I am grateful. Amanda Sutton also has been very kind in helping me get this blog (my first) up and running.
Before I began on this new journey last week I wrote some questions to myself about why I needed Better Womens Network.
Do you have a drive to do something businessy (is that a word) but dont know where to start? check
Do you have zero marketing skills? check
Are you already running a business and would like to be able to market the business to maximise return? check
Do you want to be part of an opportunity to work alongside strong minded women who are marketing professionals? These women are also super generous at sharing their skills and making sure you understand how to utilise the tips they give you?
A big fat check.
So here I am one week in. I went in trying to learn marketing from experts. I decided I would try to copy what they say and do (as legally as possible) and see what happened. Well so far my week has been great. Aside from my computer keyboard dying (really died and can not access computer) and my credit card getting frued so my payment to NPN declined ( I quickly rectified with another account) here I am with one sign up and another very healthy lead. STOAKED.
Have I achieved my goals this week? ABSOLUTELY.
