I learned how to become wealthy from a game i played with my husband and some friends earlier today…..
My husband started looking into financial freedom, money, business, entrepreneurship nearly 10 years ago! At the time, i was thinking “what is this man up to now”??? Gradually however, my husband drew me in and i got interested too.
The first place we started from was to read the book – Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. This is a must read for anyone who is serious about becoming financially free!
We progressed on to read Cash Flow Quadrant and understood that we were stuck in the Employee quadrant and immediately began to find ways to get out of that half of the quadrant and move to the other half and eventually become investors! The seed had been sown…
We began looking for opportunities!
We also started playing the Cashflow 101 game very regularly online and learned a lot about investing, good and bad deals, etc. Life got in the way, and we kind of moved on from there…but nearly a year ago, we decided to re-invest in the Cash Flow board game for adults and children.
We just finished playing a game a few hours ago and here are some lessons on how to become wealthy that i learned from that game which i want to share with you:
1 – It does not matter where you are right now, what your profession is or what job you are doing right now, you too can become financially free!
2 – Opportunities abound around us all the time, we only need to open our eyes and minds to see them!
3 – Opportunities you missed are not lost, but grabbed by somebody else!
4 – Great deals do not appear great at first glance, take a closer look, check out the figures, you may have an opportunity of a lifetime before you!
5 – Not every deal called “a big deal” or “a great opportunity” is really one!
6 – When you search, you will find. If you stay hungry, you will find opportunities!
7 – There really is something called the law of attraction. My bible puts it simply – as a man thinks so is he. You are what you think! Control your thoughts, align your thoughts to your desires, goals, dreams and you are on your way to realising those desires, goals and dreams.
8 – Life happens to everyone of us! Life is not a respecter of persons – life will happen to you if you are in the rat race or if you are already financially free! You therefore can not use the excuse of life happening to you as a reason not to pursue financial freedom. Financial freedom gives you choices!
9 – Those who have become successful, financially free paid a price to get there! Don’t expect to know what they know without paying a price! Things received at zero cost hold zero value for us!
10 – It does not matter how cash rich you are, you must keep an eye on your expenses to become financially free! Lower your expenses, increase your passive income and you will be on your way to financial freedom.
