Here is a method that very few actually do because they do not want to be bothered with the time it takes. Setting up your bookmarking accounts and posting to them is not all that hard these days with all the social bookmarking software and tools.
Why stop there though ? Why not take it to another level and increase the effectiveness of your social media links ? I have always been told to take full advantage of what I have been given and I am not about to let extra link juice go out the window by doing bookmarking half way.
You will not find this in some ebook or on some experts website because they do exactly what 95% of the other do, just spam the bookmarking sites.
This is what you do not want to do, you want to do proper social bookmarking and add a little flavor in while you are at it.
Register an account at a few of the popular bookmarking sites such as http://www.diigo.com/and http://www.faves.com. Once you have your accounts setup, take the time to fill out your profiles fully. Spend some time on the sites to learn how they function.
You want to post maybe 2 – 3 links a day to these sites and make sure these links are not spammy in anyway. Once you have about 10 – 12 links posted then you want to look up your Rss Feeds for these sites. Your own account will have an rss feed with all your links.
Once you have your feeds written down then you want to go to social media sites such as http://www.friendfeed.com/and http://www.digg.com because these sites allow you to add your rss feeds. When you add your rss feeds it will automatically update these sites when you post to the social bookmarking sites.
