The perfect lead follow-up, well let’s just get right to it. One through six and in that order is the perfect lead follow-up…
- Introduction/Thank You
- Curiosity statement
- Call to action link
- Commitment that you’ll be sending more emails
- Engagement request
- P.S. Sending them back to your original offer, or another offer that is relative to the first
Your introduction should at least be a paragraph, not a large one, but maybe two or three sentences to start your follow-up email.
What is a curiosity statement? Well it could be quite a lot of things, like a question, maybe that you partially answer and then send them to a link that could answer the rest of it. Really all it needs to be is something of interest to the reader to keep them engaged and possibly clicking on your link.
Call to action link, is exactly what it says it is, you want to make sure that you have your readers going to what it is that you are promoting, now this does not have to be based on a purchase. It could just be a link to answer a question or a link maybe to your Facebook Group, or a link to another website of yours, etc. I guess you know what I mean, if not please leave a comment below and I will get back with you as soon as I can.
Commitment that you’ll be sending more emails, just as it sounds. When I write out emails, I will always put in towards the end of my email, “Any questions please hit reply”. Also I say, “I’ll be in touch soon”, or “watch for my email tomorrow”, and so on.
Engagement request is when you ask your reader to stay in contact with you, either by a question asked, or a service you are offering and having them either write back to you or even a Thank You, for something that you had done for them. Have them involved in what you both have in common and how you are there to help them, so ask them, “what can I help with?” Just keep the conversation going and always be there for them to answer their questions, or help them fix their problems.
P.S. Well it is a good place to send them to your link, as well as have them check out something new, or something older that you might be doing that would help them with their problem.
I hope that this helps a little when writing emails, I got some of the same advice from one of my mentors on my path with Digital Marketing and it helped me quite a bit and I still use the 6 steps today on certain emails that I am writing.
If you have any questions or want to leave a comment, please do below and I will get back with you as soon as I can.
All The Best,
