Become an Authority in Your Niche
Producing and sharing high value of content will make you become an authority in your niche. The audience will respect you, see you as an expert and you’ll see more and more highly targeted traffic getting into your list. But in order to become an expert you need to start from the beginning.
Blog Often
Having a blog plays a great role on making you an expert. You may post different aspects of your niche, which will be beneficial for beginners as well as more advanced audience. It is also great to register as a guest on other blogs within your niche and provide some good content and excellent comments as well as referring to your blog for more information. This will lead to a tremendous amount of traffic on your blog.
Write Articles
You need to consider writing articles about your niche on topics that your audience would be interested in. You may do that by finding online and offline magazines that expertize on your niche. Whether you choose online or offline, if your content is rich it will help you to be an expert.
Become a Resource
Its good to inform the local and national press that you’re a resource and whenever they need any quote about your niche they may contact you. You can do that by many ways such as sending email to reporters when they write about your niche, making blog comments, and using a service like HARO (Help a Reporter Out) which is a way of signing up to be a source of qualified reporters on the topic that you choose.
Set up Consistent Profiles
Your profile need to be consistent whether it’s Facebook, LinkedIn, or your blog. You need to make sure that your profile on each doesn’t contradict with the others. Ensure to get to the same point on each social media but differently according to the nature of each social media. For instance, LinkedIn is more business and buttoned up, while Facebook is more social. Obviously you need to be professional on all accounts.
Send Out Press Releases
Whenever you do something exiting in your business such as publishing a book, having a webinar, or conducting an interview for a radio show or podcast, send out a press release. This is a great way of getting online back links to your website.
Form Partnerships with Other Experts
Forming a joint venture is a very smart way of getting your name out. You need to look for such people and discuss with them about it. Together you can make webinar, podcast show, or jointly write an informative eBook and this will be beneficial for both of you.
To conclude, you need to choose an area to focus on and work yourself on it to become an expert. Malcolm Gladwell, in his bestselling book, Outliers: The Story of Success, surmised that it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert on any topic. But you don’t need to wait that long to show yourself as an expert. Just work on getting good knowledge and market yourself so the audience consider you as an expert.
