For years I had no clue how to market online. I was always listening to the wrong people who also were clueless on how to market online effectively. My upline was useless and always gave me bad marketing advice. They told me to talk to more people everyday. Yea, I was making more enemies everyday instead of business partners!
I ran into someone I thought was better than me, who was making a good living online. He showed me his marketing trick that was gathering leads. He taught me to spam the free classifieds. You know, reply back to their ads. I asked him “isn’t that spamming?” He said “no it’s Reverse Marketing.” He lied! I got banned for life from many classifieds sites for using this dumb marketing method. Plus the owners of the ads I spammed sent me some very nasty emails. OUCH!
I was the worst marketer you can ever meet! I thought that spamming was a marketing technique, I’m serious! I would opt in at capture pages just so I’ll get easy email addresses. Then I would pitch them my business opportunity. I remember feeling very proud of myself. I thought I was on to something big. Wow was I wrong!
But it didn’t just stop there. If I found a sneaky way of pitching my business opportunity I would do it. The funny part was, if I didn’t get leads daily then I thought the problem was I wasn’t doing it enough.
From just one email message my spamming days were over. Someone that I spammed that day replied back and wrote. “Hey how’s this type of marketing working for you?” And there was no link in the email. Which I thought was strange. I replied back, “Not to good, why?” So he goes, “I have a free report that will help you.” He was right, that free report did wonders. It saved my internet marketing career!
I now always give VALUE in everything I do online. I’m finally respected and others love hearing from me. Once I understood how pitching your business opportunity can ruin you I got rid of my bad marketing habits for good!
