One of the easiest things to do with an internet business is to get referrals. Okay, maybe not the easiest thing, but if you know what you’re doing, you can find them easy enough. Now, for some people, turning those new referrals into actual paying members is a little more challenging but not impossible.
The biggest problem with building an MLM business is not any of the above, no. The biggest problem is retaining those individuals who sign up as paying members. You see, the MLM industry has a huge problem with people dropping out before they even give their new businesses a fair go. Why do they drop out so easily? Simply because their sponsors’ do not make an effort to connect with them.
That’s correct, this is a common complaint among new members, and it’s a complaint that any serious MLM business builder should consider. If we are failing to connect with our new team members then they will soon drop away, not all of them but most will be gone within the first 1 to 3 months.
So what is the best way to connect with your new members? The Phone! Remember you’re not cold calling a lead here, these people are your new team members. Most likely they’re hot contacts ready to get going! Sure you can email them, and this works but not as effectively as a personal call from you.
Just a short phone call to welcome them to your team and to offer assistance will do. From there you can invite them to connect with you on Face Book and Skype. Try this and see the difference it will make in your retention rates. It works!
Obviously if you’re marketing outside your home Country then calling them will prove a little more difficult but not impossible. The simple truth is we must make an effort to welcome and work with our new team members. Only then will we build a solid ongoing residual income.
