Well, that was an experience! I don’t think our community could have been in a better place for the storm to have passed through as the greater damages from rainfall, flooding and wind damage was North and South of Dalmatia PA. We had significant rainfall, some water in the basement but nothing that the primary sump pump was not able to handle. I was concerned that some of the limbs of the huge Red Maple that’s close to the house might snap/break from the high winds and gusts but it’s still intact. Most all the leaves had already fallen and I think that made the difference. We had a loss of power but it only lasted 4 hours. I had plenty of gas for the generator (15 gal) to keep the sump pump(s) operating and hooked the TV on a separate line. I was going to alternate that with the refrigerator and the microwave if needed.
Other areas of the Eastern US were not so fortunate. I’m watching the Weather Channel and have been viewing pictures on the internet of the destruction this storm has caused….and “all that snowfall” to the West! We have some minor clean-up but I know we can really “count our blessings” and Give Thanks. My thoughts and prayers to those less fortunate whose lives were impacted significantly by this storm.
