Micro secure digital cards or better known as “micro SD cards” is a removable flash memory card which can be used in a wide variety of consumer electronic devices. They are commonly used in mobile phones, digital cameras, tablets, portable media players and video game consoles.
There is certainly a good selection of SD memory cards makers including SanDisk, Kingston, Transcend, Sony, and Samsung. All these come in an assortment of memory sizes ranging from 2GB, Micro SD 8GB, 16GB Micro SD, 32GB Micro SD, Micro SD 64GB, up to anything as enormous as 2048GB (2 TB).

Most come with USB adapters that will enable a micro SD card to be used with devices that are intended for SD, mini-SD, Memory Stick Duo and USB cards, however, for some devices these are not universally compatible.

SDHC vs SDXC
Without going into details, SDXC (Secure Digital Extented Capacity) cards are the newer versions of memory cards which have a higher capacity and faster speed than the SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity). When you compare SDHC vs SDXC, you will find that the newer card start at a memory capacity of 64GB and can go up to a maximum theoretical capacity of 2 TB (TerraBytes). As for camcorder users, the SDXC memory cards may guarantee even longer hours of high-definition videos compared with the SDHC cards.
The Secure Digital mobile memory is the same as the TransFlash card and both can be used in compatible electronic devices with the only difference being, that the micro SDHC card adds support for SDIO (Secure Digital Input Output) mode which enable non-memory cards like GPS, Bluetooth, and Near Field Communication (NFC) devices to work.
SanDisk Micro Secure Digital Cards
Both TransFlash and the micro mobile memory card are the same because the format of the mobile memory was originally created by SanDisk who called it “T-Flash”, which then became TransFlash. Finally the memory card was re-named micro SD when it was adopted by the SD Card Association.
