Feeding Horses In Winter
I would like to introduce you to my friend Bailey who is an English Springer Spaniel.
Bailey has been sitting beside me for the last 3 years as I’ve typed away on the computer. She is almost as trained as myself on the computer, or so I would like to believe.
Every good blog should have a purpose so I’ve been trying to figure out what mine would be. Thanks to Bailey and her moral support and maybe some from a few humans I think I’ve come up with a direction. Look out animal world!
This morning as we were viewing our Facebook page, we discovered a Kiijji Ad for someone wanting to sell two of their horses for $500.00 each by Monday or else…… They did indicate that it was due to the lack of hay to feed their horses. Now, I am an avid animal lover and owning 2 horses myself, I do understand that hay is very scarce this winter in Ontario and in many other areas of Canada and the United States. It is a hot topic in the horse world around here and I’m sure for other animal owners as well.
I would like to make it clear that I am in no way an expert on animals and everything that I have learned about my animals has come from others offering assistance, reading, research and listening. Oh yeah, let’s not forget the common sense factor. So, I’ve decided that maybe I could share some of my thoughts on helping get our horses through this rough winter without an abundance of hay.
Searching the Internet
I went immediately to the World Wide Web of Google and typed in “no hay to feed horses”. I thought I’d share some of the sites I’ve found in hopes that it may help some of my horse friends out there. Please remember that this is information from other sources and if you are concerned about your animals welfare you should contact your veternarian.

It took me approximately 10 minutes of looking at different items online and as you see above I’ve posted a few of the sites I found. I would love to hear from you if you have any other suggestions, websites to visit or just generally some information to submit. Maybe we can help someone out there keep their loved horses through these trying times.
