Are you strong enough? Are you committed enough?
Are you serious enough? What are your expectations?
Are you truly willing to pay the price?
These questions among a few other questions were presented before me when I had to make a decision on going into business for myself. Excited initially, for realizing possibility of realizing the dream of quitting my job and being free. Just being free, that alone, is one of the many benefits of going after my dream and building my own business.
You know it’s quite funny, I still remember that day. I remember the first time the idea of freedom was sparked within me and how “wired” I was. And believe me, seeing someone that was really free, really living the example, and had told me I could do the same had made me realize what I was capable of doing and had become the number one goal on my list. And well, for me, that had done something to me that changed me and I knew I would never be the same because of it.
Freedom is, for me, ABSOLUTELY worth overcoming every obstacle and every barrier out there. I understood early on, that there was going to uphill battle and that is just to put it mildly. And what waited before me was just that. I still can remember the battles and frustrations that I had faced, whether it not having a reliable vehicle to drive, whether it was lying in a bed in the hospital, whether it was trying to gather money to pay the next bill. It was because of these challenges the question came to mind…what are you capable of doing?
And let me be completely honest here, realizing this didn’t come overnight. Sometimes, reflecting on that question I couldn’t see the answer being very much. Although when I was able to realize what exactly I’m capable doing, things begin shift for myself. Realizing if there’s a way to have something done, a WINNER will find a way.
Stretching yourself and becoming better is a lifetime process and begins with a dream. Your dream could be about anything you choose, but I had been told by a great leader that a dream should be something a little bit bigger than your current circumstances.
Having a dream, no matter the size, should be causing an individual to be moved out of current comfort level. And throughout the process, your victories and struggles that you may face should be a constant reminder of what you are capable of doing.
Hey I’m with ya,
