Are You Forcing Other People to Make Up For Your Mistakes?

There’s an awful lot of talk about transparency lately.

And branding.

And being authentic.

And all the other BS jargon that wannabe marketers toss around when they wanna sound like they’re down.

Like they know what’s going on.

The lingo, used correctly, must mean I know what I’m talking about, right?

Not exactly.

Let’s get down to the meat of this one quickly.

If you don’t know what integrity is, you shouldn’t be in business.

a

Case in point.

Right now I’m waiting for someone else.

Waiting because they made a mistake.

They took a piece of equipment I need to get my job done.

But did they turn right around when the mistake was noticed?

Oh, hell no.

They decided that what they had to do was far more important than my time schedule.

A schedule that I attempted to adjust backward yesterday just in case something went sideways.

Like it did.

Who has to make up for it?

Not the person responsible.

Not that person’s family.

In fact, the mistake will cost the return trip to where I am and nothing more.

I, on the other hand, have my entire schedule disrupted.

I will have to make adjustments.

I will get the job done anyway, because that’s how I roll.

Take responsibility for your actions.

If you make a mistake, “I’m sorry” means jack.

Making it right as much as possible and taking whatever steps you must to do so is your responsibility.

Especially if your mistake is costing the other party n their work and business.

I know you take care of things, don’t you?

You’d never leave someone else holding the bag.

Let everyone know about it here.

People everywhere are searching for someone with integrity to help them.

Be that person.

Every day.
