New Year Resolutions – Yes or No?
As you begin this brand new year are you making resolutions? Or are you tired of resolutions you do not keep?
The news reporters state that of all those people who do make resolutions – very few keep them to the end of January and some keep them less than 1 day.
This new year instead of resolutions how about…
reflecting on transforming your life into what you truly desire?
Take the time to reflect on what you really want your life to look like, write down your most private aspirations. You know – those longings and desires you have kept hidden for far too long.
If you want an awesome, wonderful life, you need a plan.
Whether you are married or not, in a relationship or not – feeling strong and responsible for your own destiny is key to your ‘abundant’ survival.
You can be, do and have all the desires of your heart by connecting with your deepest aspirations.
The challenge for most women is reconnecting with lost creativity. For many women life becomes an overwhelming list of commitments to husbands, children, aging parents, a job, housework, car pools, meetings, and on and on it goes.
“Hurtling through life as if it were an out of body experience” feeling frazzled and often exhausted. (Sarah Ban Breathnack , Simple Abundance)
Make this year the year to transform your life and stop feeling out of control.
Here are 3 suggestions to help you recognize what you really want for you life:
- Every day find a quiet corner in which to create and rejuvenate yourself, make this time as essential as breathing – even if it only lasts for 5 minutes.
- Set boundaries for yourself- everything does not have to be done TODAY – things can wait. Enjoy the people in your life, but let things wait.
- Realize that the world really is a beautiful place – wake up and create an authentic life for yourself. Enjoy more time out of doors – in nature.
As you allow these 3 suggestions to work their magic in your life – even on your busiest of busy days – remember the key is the habit you are forming. Some days your quiet time may be a luxurious hour and other days much less – maybe only a few minutes – But you are creating a wonderful new habit.
In my opinion, it is the habit of remembering to take the time to dream that will get you to where you truly want to go. Nothing happens ‘overnight’, but your new habit will slowly transform your life.
Wishing you a transformative new year; may it be all that your heart desires.

Corinne Floyd
