Well it is nearly the end of the year and it really gets many people thinking about what is ahead in the coming year. Do they make a change and look at creating something different for the up coming year?
In 2012 we have seen many things happen especially in the job market creating uncertainty for families futures. Being reliant on jobs is sometimes a very scary option. One day your job is safe and the next day you are told that you are being replaced by robots as they are more cost effective and efficient.
Over the last 20 years there has been so many technological advances that it now opens up many more options to people rather than looking at a normal 9-5 job. I remember being one of the first travel consultants that wanted to work from home over 10 years ago and I was told that it hadn’t been done and it wouldn’t be successful. Well I proved them wrong being one of the top consultants for the company and travelling worldwide on paid trips whilst also having a young family.
I loved this position and enjoyed working from home but with competition and airline collapses it became a more challenging role and took my focus away from my family which was not the point. I was still working for someone else with set hours (although slightly flexible) but really I still didn’t have control for my families future.
I decided over a year ago to start looking at other options to supplement my income to begin with so I didn’t have to work quite as hard. Mid this year I quit my job and now work from home completely. This has been so liberating to have complete control and flexibility and know that this is changing our future. I have been able to attend all the school events over the last 6 months and when my daughter asks me to attend one of her Assembly’s. I can now say sure I will be there as I work around my children rather than my children working around my work!!
Are you looking for a change for your future??
