Marketing – Four legs to a table

One of the great things about partnering in a group of dynamic women, is that we can all learn from each other.  We all have different strengths and together we make an awesome team.  I would like to share a post that Jacqueline Tribe, our head of advertising at the Better Womens Network, wrote. 

“Hi everyone, one the the best things I’ve learned about marketing is the ‘four legs to a table’ rule. As we all know, most tables have four legs for stability. You take away one of the legs, and the table will fall over. With all four legs in place the stable is very strong. Marketing is no different.

In order to have a stable marketing campaign, you need to spread your efforts out across a minimum of four methods. And you need to do it persistently and consistently. There is NO point in only posting on facebook once a week. There is NO point in placing one banner ad on one random website. There is NO point in blogging once a month. There is NO point in…you get my drift!

A stable marketing plan needs to have a MINIMUM of four methods and you need to be consistent and persistent. If you’re going to blog – blog DAILY. Some people blog HOURLY. If you’re going to post on facebook – make a commitment to post to 10 groups DAILY. If you’re going to run free classified ads, make a commitment to post a certain number of ads DAILY. If you are going to buy leads – CALL THEM ASAP!

There are also off line methods – newspapers, school newsletters (how many mums at schools would like to learn how to make money online?), letterbox drops, chat to your friends, put a flyer up in the supermarket & on noticeboards in laundromats! Carry them with you and be ready to put them when you find somewhere. Think outside the square…there are a MILLION places to advertise. I used to create little ‘drop cards’ about the size of a credit card with details about the opp I was marketing and I would leave them in my shopping trolley, at the petrol station, ATM etc., etc. And I would have people call me or go to my website from them! People are looking for what YOU have in your hand right now! SHARE IT WITH THEM. Also have you seen in your GlobalNPN back-office – top right hand corner – Training / Help – Marketing Guides??
