Are those images safe to use in your Blog?
It is important to use only images on your blog that do not have copyright restrictions. You have to make sure that the images you use are “free access”.
I have spent some time looking for some different sites that you can access to get photos and images that won’t cause you to experience any problems on your blog. Make sure you check the copyright restrictions on any photos you use on your blog. Some of the free photos on these sites could require you to provide attribution or information (which you should do anyway), notify the photographer of your use of their photo or more. Always follow the copyright and creative commons licensing rules related to any photo you use on your blog and obtain any necessary permissions. Below are four sites that I have used and explored. There are many other free websites available if you search the internet. Please make sure that you follow the websites rules for posting their pictures.
Pixabay.com is an international community for sharing outstanding public domain images. The website was developed by Hans Braxmeier and Simon Steinberger. In January 2013, Pixabayoffered more than 65.000 free photos, cliparts
and vector graphics, contributed by photographers and illustrators of its community.
I found this site very easy to search and there are lots of very nice graphics.
This site has free images and also allows you to purchase credits in order to buy copyrighted photos. There is also an option to promote this site on your own website.
Dreamstime is a distinguished leader in stock photography and a major supplier of high quality digital images at unbelievable prices. All stock images available are provided by Dreamstime community’s photographers, shot on film or digital and approved by our editors. Structured on categories and subcategories, the database is renewed with thousands of fresh images and titles on a daily basis.
This site does not require a login. There are certain conditions attached to using these graphics. Their frequently asked questions site provides some information on how this site works.
All images on RGBStock are free for personal and commercial use. You may use them in digital format on websites, blogs, multimedia presentations, broadcast film and video or in printed material such as magazines, books, brochures, flyers and text books. If you wish to use an image to print on items offered on sites like Cafe Press and Zazzle, to print them on any form of canvas or template for sale or re-distribution or for any purpose that is not specified in our Image License or Terms of Use you only need to contact the artist for written permission.
I hope each of these websites assists you in creating your own blogs. Please feel free to share any information regarding this post so that we can all learn safely. As I was researching the sites above I also came across some further information at Ask.com that you may find interesting.
