Lose Weight with Confidence

Losing weight can be a daunting task for anyone, especially those who are plagued by obesity. It is never been an easy task, but when you are also beaten down with a string of failures from previous attempts, and the enigma of the reflection in the mirror, the task seems insurmountable.

Couple that with the media presentations to get you to open your wallet and use your credit card to “Appear acceptable” in our society syndrome, we have in all respects lost before we have begun.

Or! Have we.

Here, I think we have to evaluate what we are desirous of, as I mentioned in the previous blog, do we want to be the next “Arnold” or for the ladies, “Sarah,” those are possibilities, but in reality, how many of us can spend 8 – 12 hours per day in the gym 7 days a week? Not really practical is it?

So then, what’s the answer that works for the most of us in the overweight population, in actuality, it’s rather 08simple when you think about it. First and foremost, get rid of that “Perfect Beach Body” image that the media pushes and seriously take inventory of what you have presently. By that I mean go to your doctor and be evaluated as far as physical condition, medical condition, then get a referral to a Nutritionist for an evaluation of dietary needs (this being a major part of the program you are about to embark on) you need to keep your body properly fueled in order to succeed in you’re chosen goals. Obesity and being overweight lead to complications both medical and psychological. This double barreled shotgun can be made safe with the right input and planning, and for God’s sake, except for the morning needs, (shaving and putting on makeup) stay the hell away from the mirror for a month or two, the lack of progress in the beginning always leads to capitulation, which leads to self-defeatism. Stay off the scale, and stick with the diet that you have been given and make use of the gym, or the sidewalk, outside you’re front door, or the floor in your living room for a workout.

Weight loss is consistent with an equal dose of guts, determination, and a realistic set of goals, combine these three items and there is no way you cannot succeed, after a month or so use the scale and you will be pleasantly surprised as to the results you have achieved. When you see the progress, the rest of the process becomes exhilarating, not mundane.

See You Next Week!

Retired and loving it, share my time and space with those who matter to me, been a lot of places, done a lot of things, but now, I'm a husband, father, grandfather and that's what's important. I answer to my God, my wife, and my family, that's it. I retain responsibility for what I say and do. Wish more people did.
