13% on the Tomatometer?

Ratings.

Much like testimonials.

But some people like ’em.

I usually don’t pay too much attention to ’em.  Or at least that’s what I tell myself.

Here’s my take…

If I’m not of the same opinions or tastes of the person leaving the rating or testimonial, how relevant will they be to me?

Someone I know tells me something is good or bad, I might take their word for it.

Anybody else?

Probably not.

Because I don’t know anything about them.

Heck, sometimes I can do the opposite of what someone recommends if I know them.

Could be that in this particular area I know that my acquaintance is way off base.

Or dead on.

What’s the bottom line?

Ratings or testimonials are only the opinion of the person giving them.

Some people like sugar in their coffee, some don’t.

Still others don’t like coffee at all.

Believe it or not.

The Tomatometer is a rating system for movies, which inspired this email.

I’m gonna rent a movie even though it earned a mere 13% on the Tomatometer.

Why?

Because I can make up my own mind whether I like it or not.

Besides, I’ve seen some great movies that I didn’t expect much from.

So I’ll take my chances.

The same thing holds true for content I look at online.

Some I like, some I don’t.

Your content will be the same way.

Don’t worry about those who are not aligned with your message.

They’re not your audience.

Just keep putting out your message consistently and the right people will find it.

Whatever type of content you’re creating for your audience, you’ll find the tools necessary to make it happen here.

Forget the naysayers and pay no attention to the haters.

There are people out there who will love you too.

Don’t keep them waiting.
