Did you know that there are dozens of words tagged as “spam keywords”?
I had no idea.
That’s why I wanted you to know.
Because if you’re like me, and ya wanna reach out to all the cool people who follow you with a daily email, you’re probably getting dinged by the spam keyword cops. And it’s likely you don’t even know it.
I sent out an email yesterday like I always do.
That particular message was about why vul-ner-a-bility is a bad thing.
The reason I had to break up the word like that is because that word is on the list of words that could get your email labeled spam.
No kidding.
I couldn’t believe it either.
But there are bunches of common words on this list.
Words you use every day and don’t think anything of it.
But if you send an email that contains those words, you look like Sir Spam-A-Lot to some email systems.
And that’s no good for you or your business.
So what do you do about it?
How do you know if you’re about to send a message that will make you look like a sleazy spammer?
If you’re a smart online marketer, you use an email system that has the spam keyword seeking software built right in.
That’s how I found out about this spam keyword thing.
