Yep, it’s true.
Control is even better than ownership.
Yet if you own it, you’d better make sure you’re the one that controls it.
Let me explain…
This is part 3 of a several part series called…
3 Critical Laws To Prevent The Destruction Of Your Online Marketing Business.
Here’s…
LAW #1.
ALWAYS CONTROL WHERE YOUR CONTENT IS HOSTED.
WHEN YOU OWN THE SPACE WHERE YOUR DATA IS HOSTED, AND CONTROL ACCESS TO IT, YOUR BUSINESS IS ON A SOLID FOOTING.
WHEN YOU DON’T, YOU’RE LIKE THE MAN WHO BUILT HIS HOUSE ON THE SAND.
The bigger you get, the more you’ll want to have another backup offline.
Just in case the unthinkable happens, and your data is somehow destroyed by an unforeseen event.
I used to have a bunch of different service providers.
I had one for hosting my blog.
One for hosting my audio.
Another for hosting my video, an email service provider and on and on.
Ya know the worst thing about having all those different providers?
It was trying to learn how each one worked, and then attempting to get all of them to work together.
Bouncing back and forth between them was a real drag.
Each one had it’s own upgrade schedule.
It seemed like at least one of them was making changes at any given time.
I spent most of my time learning all the new stuff they came up with… and very little time actually marketing my business.
Have you ever felt that way?
Here’s what you get from all that wasted effort…
You’ll know a whole lot about getting your tools to work, and you’ll make no money.
And don’t even get me started on passwords.
A different one for each site and constantly having to change them.
It’s enough to drive anyone nuts.
Even worse, I had an invoice coming in from each of them every month.
A different bill every week.
Which is the reason behind…
Law #2
Which I’ll cover in my next post.
See ya then.
