That’s right.
Ego is not your enemy.
In fact, without your ego you’d be dead within 2 weeks.
Probably 2 minutes, but what the heck.
Your ego is as essential to your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being as any other part of you.
Why else do you think you have it?
Do you suppose that nature (or god, or the universe or any other thing you may believe in) built you with a thing guaranteed to screw you up?
I think not.
It’s lonely being the only one that understands this.
I suppose that others do too, yet it seems that nobody has the stones to talk about it.
But I do, and I will.
The late Napoleon Hill shared in his books that one of the traits necessary for success was a well-developed ego.
This doesn’t mean that the ego should run the show.
But what part of you do you imagine it is that develops the burning desire?
What is it that has faith?
Which part of you does the planning for your advancement?
Mostly, what is it that seeks to protect you?
All of this starts out in the ego.
How exactly is that a bad thing?
Most people are taught all their lives that ego is synonymous with arrogance, narcissism and a lack of compassion for others.
While an ego out of control may make mistakes in these areas, that is not to say that the ego is bad.
Or something to be conquered.
Realize that your ego is simply a part of you.
It’s your sense of self.
Therefore, it’s the beginning of anything your self wants to do.
It’s the source of all you will ever be, do or have.
Good or bad.
So get a good handle on your ego.
Don’t let it control you any more than you let your emotions or anything else control you.
Learn to use its power wisely, and you’ll go far.
Attempt to conquer or ignore it, and you’ll only be fighting your “self”.
Ready to unleash your self and all you have to offer on the world?
You have a lot to offer the world.
Don’t keep it waiting…
