That’s right.
Embrace that pain.
I read somewhere once that pain is just excitement.
Like fear and love and pretty much every other emotion.
Since it’s all excitement, it’s all the same energy.
Which gives us a choice.
We can use the energy of any emotion to propel us forward.
Instead of locking us down.
Whenever one of those nasty ol’ ‘negative’ emotions comes welling up from within, welcome it.
Say “Thanks, fear! Now I have the energy to overcome this obstacle.”
The energy will do whatever you direct it to do.
Much like electricity, this energy can be used to power the machinery of our lives, or it can be misused and cause major pain.
Even death.
I realize the application of this rule is far more difficult than it sounds.
Especially in the beginning.
But like all things, the more you practice it, the better you’ll get at it.
Soon it becomes a habit.
Just like whichever shoe you put on first in the morning.
Try this experiment.
Put your clothes on in a different order.
Left sock first if you usually put on the right first.
Shirt before pants.
Whatever.
You may be surprised to find that it feels a little weird at first.
Here’s the thing.
If you keep doing it like that every day, over time you won’t have to think about it anymore.
It’ll become a new habit.
Habits are wonderful things.
But only if you’re in control.
As a wise man once said “Habits make the worst of masters and the best of slaves.”
Chew on that for a while.
One good habit to develop is talking to your fans daily.
Give ’em something to brighten their day or teach ’em something.
You can find all the tools necessary to pull that off here.
Doesn’t matter what you’ve got to say, you can get it heard using those systems.
Refuse to shy away from a good idea simply because fear shows up.
Fear is your friend.
It doesn’t want to stop you.
It’s just showing up with some extra energy to help you over that hump.
Embrace it.
