Franks in a Blanket

You may be wondering just what the heck franks in a blanket have to do with marketing.

Maybe nothing.

Depends on who you are.

Right now I’m looking at a box that has Franks in a Blanket printed on the label. The label goes on to explain that they’re smoked sausage in a parmesan topped puff pastry.

Sounds yummy, eh?

Yet I did have a question…

Aren’t franks more of a hot dog than a sausage?

Which led me to think about the origin of the word frankfurter, which franks is a shortened version of.

I figure it’s German.

Germans are big on sausage.

They call it wurst.

Hence, knockwurst, bratwurst, etc.

I like a good sausage, but since I’ve been adjusting my diet I’m not sure where they’d fit in.

If at all.

I’ve been doing a lot of studying on writing emails and copywriting.

Which are essentially the same thing.

Any time you’re writing something for marketing, you’re writing copy.

Doesn’t matter what it is.

Email, article, video script, podcast, they’re all a form of marketing communication.

Lots of people seem to get stuck on what to write about.

I don’t. Because nothing bad ever happens to a writer.

It’s all just grist for the story telling mill.

So what do franks in a blanket have to do with any of this?

You’d have to fry the sausage (that’s the easy part)

I don’t have a clue what that is, let alone how to bake it.

And how would you get it to bake up all wrapped around the sausage?
