Wanna know a secret?
Vulnerable means weak.
It means you can be hurt by another person physically or emotionally.
Vulnerability is not a source of strength.
Being vulnerable is not a source of power, it doesn’t make you more effective and it sure as hell doesn’t induce people to follow you.
You wanna be weak?
Be weak.
And people will see you that way.
Then they’ll treat you accordingly.
Being vulnerable is not a trait of an effective leader.
Don’t fall for the common new-age feel-good crap.
Think for yourself.
Every so often I gotta speak out about something.
Today it’s this new wave of people attempting to be vulnerable so people will like them.
Believe it or not, this has become a tactic business people use to get more sales.
If you wanna try it, knock yourself out.
Just understand that talking about your weaknesses and opening your business up to attack will not help you in the least.
It’ll make you look like a whiny little me-too marketer with nothing to add, so you fall back on the sympathy play.
Your business will come across as a beggar on the street pleading with someone, anyone, to please buy from them.
Don’t do it.
Talk about your strengths.
Demonstrate your effectiveness.
Reveal your power.
Leave vulnerability to the other guy.
You’re better than that.
Step into your power and show everyone what you’re made of using these marketing systems.
Get in front of your audience every day with your message of success.
Because that’s what people really wanna hear.
