Do You Have The Tools To Handle The Heat?

D*mn! We are havin’ a heat wave here!

It’s gunna end soon, but it got me thinking,
what do you do when it gets hot?

Some people have air conditioning and they hide out

Some people have to get work done and head outside.

I personally like to get a little work done then sit in the
shade with a nice cold b*er.

I don’t drink b*er often, but after a hot days work they seem
to be quite satisfying.

What else do you like to celebrate, or give yourself a reward for?

Do you think rewarding yourself for tasks is a good idea?

I learned a long time ago, if you don’t celebrate the small wins….

…. when you get the BIG WIN you are looking for,
you STILL won’t be happy.

What makes sense then?

You have to be happy now, and celebrate now, each small win
deserves a small reward, and a moment of self reflection
as you plan the next step.

The wise old horse and the boy were walking through a forest that was 
too dense for the boy to ride, so he walked just in front. 

“I can’t see the end of the forest, and I don’t know if I can make it. We may 
be lost in this forest forever.” 

The horse being older and wiser than the boy knew the forest ended eventually,
and he asked the boy, “can you see your next step?” 

The boy replied, “Yes, of course I can!”

To which the horse said, “Ok, focus on that next step, one at a time and the end
will arrive before you know it.”

The moral?

It’s great to have a big dream, and in fact YOU SHOULD have a dream big enough
to fit everyone you love into it!

But when you only look at the dream, you might become overwhelmed. So what you do
is you keep the dream in sight, but focus on the path!

Each next step, each bite sized piece that you can accomplish each day…

…..then boom, things are taking off, things are growing and then….

You reach a milestone, and this is the time….

The time to take a minute, reward yourself, reflect on where your going, where you
came from and the next step.
