Have you ever sat back, and thought to yourself, WHY am I doing this? Have you ever thought oh maybe I just go back to my damn job and be satisfied with that?
DON’T!
Something got you to get started in the path to be an entrepreneur. You have to believe in yourself! Something inside you told you, you are more! This is a truth that many people never realize! Before there were corporations, everyone was a small business owners! We called them farms, and general stores, blacksmiths and so on! Granted many of our advances have added convenience to our lives and we reap a lot of benefit from it. I don’t begrudge those people that have and run corporations.
My point though is that there is room for everyone to still be a small business owner, even if they work a job. What’s the point though?
ENVELOPING YOUR DREAMS!
The point my friend is to achieve your dreams! Those things that you strive for that right now might look out of reach, but are in your heart. Have you ever gotten quiet with yourself, and wondered what are my dreams? I challenge you to take 10 minutes in the morning and do this. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Find a place where you can be comfortable, and alone, and just sit. Focus on your breathing and ask yourself, “what are my dreams?”
Let the thoughts flow in and out, but don’t focus on them, just let them float by, see them, acknowledge them and move on. It might not happen right away, but as you practice this it will become easier. You will also find you have more joy, and less stress. Bringing those dreams top of mind will make it easier to move through the slog of entrepreneurship.
SO WHY DO I DO THIS?
What are my reasons for entrepreneurship? My reason is simple, freedom of time, but why do I want freedom of time? I want to spend all the time I can with the love of my life. I want to be able to pick up and travel any time I want. I want to learn to play the cello. I am also learning to play the guitar. I want to wake up in the morning, email my community of followers, and then work on my acreage. I love the online interaction and I love working with my hands outside on things that matter to me.
HOW AM I DOING IT?
So how does one accomplish these dreams? It’s simple, BUT, not easy! It’s the same way anyone makes money. They grow a list, other terms are a network, a customer base, a fan base, but essentially they are all a LIST. That is first and foremost. The second thing is you have to get permission to communicate with that list and then get to know that list! This is the most important step that people forget! People don’t buy sh*t from you just cuz. They buy from you because they trust you! You have to build a relationship, bring them value, and show them that you are interested in their success. It takes time, effort and relentless consistency. Then once that is established you market to that list. This is where you would sell to your fanbase, recruit your network, email you list and so on.
WHAT ARE THE BEST TOOLS TO USE?
The reality is that all of this can be accomplished from the same suite of tools that I use.
