The Importance of Getting Started.

This article is entitled the Importance of Getting Started
and what it pertains to is how you start each day.

There are thousands and thousands of people who get up
as late as they possibly can, quickly get dressed and rush
out the door. They rush to work with little respect for who
is in the next lane. Their only concern is to get to work on time.

They have either managed to make a cup of coffee in the
process or stopped at star*bucks to get one. If they haven’t,
then they head for the coffee machine as soon as possible.

The day that follows is usually a disaster.
Why because they never took the time to prepare.

Everything has been rush, rush, rush and now they hype
themselves up on caffine. Most are at a point where they
are frazzled and worn out by 10 am.

Does this sound like you? Maybe not 100% but I would
venture to guess you have a few of these traits.

Change doesn’t have to be that drastic. In fact it is rather
easy if you approach it the right way.

Set your alarm an hour earlier than usual. Some of you
might have to go to bed earlier but that is a good thing too.

Then when you wake up brush your teeth and drink a very
large glass of pure water. Do some sort of exercize
for three or four minutes to get your system flowing.

When I lived in Taiwan I would see the women come out
of their house every morning and swing their arms up over
their heads and then back down behind their backs.

They faced the rising sun when they did this. Take a few
minutes and do this. You will feel energized immediatey
plus your body will love you for doing it.

Then relax! Yes I know you have to go to work but relax
first. You will be amazed at the results. Do some sort of
meditation or yoga or simply clear your mind and think
of nothing for fifteen to thirty minutes.

Next take a refreshing shower and for the last minute
turn the tap to as cool or cold as you can handle.

Then put some fruit into a blender and add some more
pure water to blend it with. If you absolutely cannot
start your day without coffee make a cup. Use good
coffee not instant and brew it however you like.

Add some milk if you prefer but whatever you do DONOT
put any sugar in it. Sugar will ruin the taste and eventually
ruin your body.

Then go out the door relaxed, refreshed and energized.

Drive carefully and do not rush. If red lights keep
holding you back use that time to plan your day or
think of the good things you can do for your partner,
your children or your coworkers or clients.

Arrive at work ready to go and ready to spread good
will and optimism to those around you.

Have a great day,

For many years I lived in Vancouver, B.C. I owned a highly successful Home Renovation Business. In the fall of 1999 I decided to pursue my lifelong goal of teaching young children. I have a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of British Columbia. I had never taught as it was much more profitable to run my company. So after 27 years I decided to move to Taiwan where I started teaching. Then in 2006 I moved to Thailand to retire, I soon found I needed to do something more constructive with my life so I resumed teaching. The weather in Thailand is fantastic as is the golf not to mention the beaches, the people and the food. If you haven't visited yet you should.
