Why would building an MLM business be like running in a relay race? Well, first off with an MLM or multilevel company you need teachable people under you to build a business, and in relay you need four well trained participants in your team to win the race.
I’m sure you have all seen relay events in athletics before. The first member of the team starts running with a baton in hand, and when he’s completed his lap, he passes the baton to the next runner and so on. They can’t let the baton fall or pass it in an improper way. And of course, there is a specific strategy on line up order, and they all run with the intention of winning.
Of course, in a MLM you will need many more than four people in your down line to earn a decent income. However, here we’re not concerned with quantity, but with the philosophy behind it. As the first athlete on the relay team strives to give his best to cover the tracks as fast as possible, to correctly pass on the baton, and to create an advantage for the following athlete; the same way an MLMer does his/her best to pass down the necessary information, and to teach his/her down line how to use a valuable system. Then, the down line leverages from the already proven strategies of his upper line and keeps on teaching them to his/her down line.
As each relay member has to carefully keep the rhythm, the speed, and the focus to reach finish line, so does each MLMer have the responsibility to completely follow the system and strategies handed down to him/her, so that his future down line will easily follow suit, and have the same results.
Usually, as a relay member gets excited and runs with all his/her strength, the others also get fired up and the result is victory. The same thing should happen in MLM: As the members of a team get excited with what they learn, believe in it, and duplicate it, the outcome is inevitably positive.
So, whether it’s a relay or an MLM you’re involved in, team work is the key to success.
To your success!
