Seedtime and Harvest

I just completed sowing wheat on our Southwest Oklahoma farm that has been in this family for 104 years. Thinking about the seedtime that is completed and expecting a harvest coming up late May, early June, I wanted to share thoughts about our business.
This is seedtime. To sow an acre of wheat with one of our varieties of wheat, according to statistical numbers, on average, there are 16,000 seeds in a pound of wheat and for this variety, we like to sow 110 pounds per acre (1 bushel and 50 pounds). So, when I am sowing wheat, our grain drill is putting 1,760,000 seeds down in an acre of land. I sowed 1,267 acres of wheat in the last few weeks. At harvest time, when conditions are right, we may average 40 bushels to the acre. Some times more, some times less. We are a dry land farm so we rely on the moisture that is given from above to produce the crop. Faith. So, on average, what we put in the ground yields 38,400,000 seeds per acre at harvest time. Our farm produces on average 48,652,800,000 seeds annually.
Our business is no different. There is a Seedtime and There is a Harvest. Now is the time to sow seeds! To share your business with as many people as you possibly can. Some seed will fall on ground that won’t produce a harvest. Some seed will fall on ground that may produce a little. Some seed will fall on to ground that will produce a Bountiful Overflowing your Grain Bins Harvest that you don’t have enough room to contain and you have to stack it on the ground and pile it up! You don’t know what each seed will produce, so you have to plant as many seeds as possible, expecting a harvest to come from each seed you sow…. each time you share your business with others. Just sow seeds! You can not predict the soil that it will fall upon in the life of the person at the time you sow it. Just sow seeds.
Never stop sowing (sharing your business), because a Harvest is coming!
Are you Expecting Your Harvest? Are you expecting a small harvest or a BOUNTIFUL OVERFLOWING HARVEST!
The Time to Sow Seeds is Now!
Expect Your Harvest To Come!
If you want to learn more about wheat, check out this site . Wheat from our area of Southwest Oklahoma is used in making bread. Each bushel of wheat makes about 95 1 pound loaves of whole wheat bread.
