Know what I’ve noticed lately?
Things haven’t changed much as far as marketing online goes.
I mean, there’s lots of new tools and sites.
The rise of social media has been freakin’ crazy.
But the things ya gotta do to run a marketing business online haven’t changed.
Not a bit.
In fact, the principles of running an effective business haven’t changed in 100 years.
How do I know?
Because that’s how far back I look for the majority of the information I get.
Rockit (my girl and partner) really loves this guy named Gitomer.
He writes sales books.
In fact, he writes all kinds of books about business and success.
In one of his books he says “If you want to learn something new, read a book that’s 100 years old.”
I agree with him 100%.
You can trace pretty much any “new” marketing idea you hear about back 100 years.
That’s where you’ll get the real story.
Because it’s all about the principles and has none of the modern bling.
Take storytelling for instance.
Some people actually believe this is a new “strategy”.
Jesus was telling stories a couple thousand years ago.
Aesop was doing the same hundreds of years before that.
Yet the gurus (or whatever they’re called now) would have you believe that telling stories is the latest BSO.
That’s bright shiny object 😃
So it is with marketing online.
The first 3 things (maybe the only 3) that ya gotta work on are
1. Simple funnels
2. Building a buyer’s list
3. Email daily
That’s the whole thing in a nutshell.
The trick is avoiding all the hype about the latest course “guaranteed to make you rich while you lie sleep!”.
I’ll be going into more on this subject in future emails.
Stay tuned for more.
Until then, you can find out more about how to get started with this simple formula here
