LinkedIn Groups: A Lead Generation Strategy – How to Maximize LinkedIn Groups to Generate Leads for Your Business

Today we talk about how to generate Leads from LinkedIn.
LinkedIn

LinkedIn represents a relatively untapped source of leads for your business. While there are many LinkedIn users, not many of them know how to really use LinkedIn as a part of their overall lead generation strategy. Most marketers create an intriguing profile and then leave everything else to chance. That simply does not work. LinkedIn is a social platform that requires time invested with consistent interaction. In this article, I’ll show you how to use LinkedIn Groups to generate leads for your business.

Join a LinkedIn group.

Because there are over 100 million people on LinkedIn, there is no way, nor do you want to, interact with them all. Join groups that are relevant to your business – other marketing groups, groups where your target market spends a good amount of time, etc. Choose groups that are active and have at least 1000 (preferably 3000) or more. While you can join up to 50 groups on LinkedIn, focus on a few; perhaps no more than 3-5 groups.

Participate in discussions. After you’ve joined a group, participate in the discussions. You can start out by joining in the most popular discussions. Even though you want to establish yourself as a leader, make a humble entrance into a group. Reply to existing comments and offer your insights on the topic. You may even ask a question that is thought provoking.More importantly, avoid promoting your product or services.

Initiate a new discussion. Ask a question. Take the time to observe the dynamics of the group. The last thing you want to do is to become an unwelcomed member. After you’ve participated in group discussions, start asking your own questions. With this strategy, you are attracting people to you. Take note of the people that respond to your questions the most and connect with them outside the group.

Be active. Generating leads on LinkedIn will not have an immediate return. You must take the time to be active. This can be done in a few minutes per day and will render rich rewards over time. Participate regularly in discussions. Answer questions. Offer feedback. Ask questions. The more visible you are the better. Remember, you are a part of a group of thousands. Chances are you will be visible to different people at different times. Don’t miss that opportunity with sporadic interactions.

Get off of LinkedIn. While LinkedIn is a social network, you don’t want the relationship to stay there. After you’ve gone through all of the above – you joined a group, participated, been active, and connect with people – ask if you can call them. If you’re local, ask if they want to meet for coffee or lunch. Move the connection off the internet to make it more personal or just send a video email. When you show your lead that you are really interested in connecting with them on a personal level, you will make them feel important. When you make them feel important, they will want to hear from you.

To your success

I'm a german guy born 1979 in Cologne who has always been looking for ways to make money online. I never liked working for someone else, so i started my first business with 24 and never looked back. I went through lot of failures, but finally cracked the code after years of struggle. I love to sleep in, love to eat, love to inspire people to follow their dreams. My favorite question to ask someone is: What would you do if money wasn't an object? I work from home full time and coach people on how to build an income with nothing more than a computer and an internet connection. To learn more, check out my "About me" page.
