One of my friends and I were suppose to go out for sushi tonight. As usual, she cancelled. This time she said she thought she was out in the sun too much and had fallen asleep when she got home. When she woke up, she had a headache plus she had no money. Every time we make plans, it takes at least twice before we actually get together. Usually her excuse is that she isn’t feeling well, but sometimes it is her lack of money. This got me thinking about my friendship with her.
In all of the material I have read regarding marketing, one thing I have read over and over is that you should surround yourself with people you want to be like. For the most part, I do. I have two friends, the person I am talking about and one other, who have low self-esteem and, for the friend from today, low funds. I have, on several occasions, offered my friend my help to work with her if she gets into Solavei with me. About a month ago, she text me that she bought a new phone with Verizon. Even though she has been complaining about being worried about her job and going back to school. But today I realized she is the type of person who would rather worry than try a road that can actually lead to success. But she is a friend nonetheless.
I don’t know what her fears are regarding success, but I do know that in the 4 years or so that I’ve known her she has complained about the same things and doesn’t do anything to affect change. I am the first to admit that I was afraid when I started. I was afraid that Solavei would really be a money maker, which left me wondering what I would do if I lost the state service I had to pay my caregiver. As it turns out, I lost the service for other reasons. All of a sudden all reasons to not be successful were gone. It was very clear that with or without a reason, I was holding myself back just like my friend is doing. But change is something someone has to want in their life. Is just like dealing with an addict. You can tell the addict they need help and have an addiction, but until they admit it to themselves nothing will change.
I changed. I was already positive, or so I thought. I thought I was ready for success. But when I realized I wasn’t, I knew I was ready to change. And I can see the change in myself. Are you ready for success? Are you ready to change your thinking and open yourself to receive success? If you’re not meeting new people, if you’re not achieving the success you want, please come talk to me. I would love to help you.
